Venus travels inside the Earth's orbit, so it stays close to the Sun in our sky and never appears more than about forty eight degrees away from it. That single fact settles what this pair can do in a birth chart. There is no Sun Venus square, no trine and no opposition, and the whole relationship comes down to how near Venus sits, which side of the Sun it sits on and whether it was moving forward or backward at birth. The Sun carries identity and direction; Venus carries taste, pleasure, value and the way a person makes themselves agreeable. Together they describe how closely your sense of what is worth having is tied to your sense of who you are.

When Venus sits on the Sun, liking something and being someone stop being separate operations. Taste becomes a form of self-description. Why there is no Sun Venus square or opposition

Ninety degrees is beyond reach and a hundred and eighty is not even close, for the same reason that applies to Mercury: an inner planet cannot appear far from the Sun from where we are standing. The forty eight degree ceiling does leave room for two minor angles that Mercury never reaches. A semisextile of thirty degrees is possible, and so is a semisquare of forty five, both sitting near the outer edge of the swing. Neither carries much weight in most working practice, though the semisquare is occasionally noted as a low grade friction between what a person wants to be and what they find pleasant.

The practical upshot is that Sun Venus is read as a spectrum rather than as a set of aspects. Close means fused, mid range means available, far means the two run largely independently and each is read on its own terms. If a report hands you a Sun trine Venus, the chart data is wrong somewhere, most often a mistyped year or a location that has pulled the calculation off. It is a useful error to know, because it is one of the few chart claims that can be dismissed on astronomy alone without checking anything else.

Between two people, one person's Venus falling on the other's Sun is one of the warmest contacts in the comparison and one of the most reliably pleasant to be around. The Venus person tends to find the Sun person genuinely appealing without effort, and the Sun person tends to feel appreciated for what they already are rather than for what they are managing to do. Two cautions keep the reading honest.
