How is the arc calculated?

Underneath, the logic is one piece of arithmetic. You count the years elapsed between birth and today, then check how many degrees the Sun advanced through the tropical zodiac across those years. The result is a single arc value, generally somewhere between 0.98 and 1.02 degrees per year. That arc then gets added to every point in the chart, meaning Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, all the house cusps and the Ascendant. Everything shifts by the identical amount.

Take a thirty-two-year-old. The arc runs roughly thirty-two degrees, so natal Venus at 10 degrees of Aries becomes a directed Venus near 12 degrees of Gemini.
